Case: Watertown 018

Date of Investigation: 21 Sept, 2008

This investigation took place on 21 September, 2009 at approximately 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

This is a relatively new house (approximately 8 to 10 years old). As of my writing this, there is no knowledge of a home being here prior to the current one. The tenants mentioned that the previous tenants were kicked out of the residence. There are no recorded reasons for this house to be ‘haunted’.

The following items were used in the course of this investigation: General Electric microcassette recorder model #3-5326A using a Sony MC-60 Microcassette and a Slim 6.0 Mega Pixel digital camera model #CM11507.

Complainant 1: Mother
Complainant 2: Youngest son

Complainant 1 said that something, during the evening, while she was asleep, she somehow received scratch marks on her legs. These marks appeared to be created by fingernails (there were 4). These were each about an inch or two long and they looked as if someone had scratched her with the four fingers of a hand. This is what the complainant mentioned. The marks were no longer visible at the time of this investigation.

Complainant 1 also said that she heard something like a child’s voice in the garage of the residence say, “mom”.

Complainant 2 said that he had witnessed, on several occasions, a black figure in his room. He mentioned that one of the incidents in which he witnessed the ‘shadow’ shadow type person, it was late at night and he was lying down in his bed. He mentioned that this ‘shadow’ being came to his bed and started choking him.

Both complainants said that they feel uneasy in the northeastern portion of the basement and in the garage.

Both complainants said that there was what appeared to be a paw print on the wall near their front door. I witnessed the ‘paw print’. It did look like a paw print. It is unknown how it got there. It was approximately 4 to 5 feet from the point on the wall where it was located. The complainants do have cats. For one of the cats to have put this print there they would have had to jump about 4 to 5 feet up. There was only one print there.

During the course of the investigation I did not feel any uneasiness or unusual feelings.

During the investigation of the basement (during a lights out portion), I went to go take pictures. At this point I was in the southwest portion of the basement. When I went to take the picture, nothing happened. I turned on the flashlight and didn’t notice anything wrong. I then opened up the battery compartment of the camera and noticed that the batteries were no longer in it. Myself, and the residents proceeded to look for the batteries. The batteries were located at the other end of the basement, by the bottom of the stairs. They were on the floor a couple of feet apart. At no time during the investigation did I hear the batteries fall onto the wooden platform that they were found on. We dropped them and they made a fairly loud noise when they hit the floor. I also want to note that I had to ‘open’ the battery compartment to see that the batteries were not in it. The battery compartment doesn’t open by itself, it has to manually be opened.

There were a couple of EVP’s recorded through the course of the evening. The first 2 were taken while we were in the basement of the residence. The first was after I asked the question, “Do something to let us know you’re here” and the answer was “no”. The second EVP was after I asked, “Is anybody in here”, the answer was “yes”. There was a final EVP. The noise that was recorded is unintelligible, and was received when we were in the garage. The noise was not heard while we were in the garage. It was only noticed during the playback of the recorder. When we were in the garage we were asking if there was a child present because the resident mentioned hearing a child. After being slowed with noise reduction, using Audacity, it sounds like “there isn’t children here”.

There were many photos taken. Of them only 2 had orbs in them. I leave the determination of what the orbs mean up to the viewer. Personally, I believe that if there are experiences surrounding the image of the orbs than there may be some validity to the orb(s) being paranormal in nature. However, orbs can’t hold their own because they are too easy to create.

A cleansing of the residence was performed on the property and within the residence. The residents claimed that since the cleansing, they have also told any paranormal entities that they are not welcome in their home. No further experiences were noted by the residents since that time. I have been in contact with them.
